Rhonda joined Investment Planning Counsel in 2001 as a founding partner of the Orillia Branch. With over 4000 renovated square feet of space, she and her partners opened the doors to one of the largest branches of Investment Planning Counsel in Canada. She and her partners proudly received the “Entrepreneur of the Year” Award from the City of Orillia for their efforts.
Rhonda graduated with high honours from Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology. She started out in the 1980s in investment administration and cash-flow management for a large Trust Company on Bay St. in Toronto. She left as Manager of investment Administration and moved on to a larger “B” Bank in the downtown core where she acquired extensive experience in the wholesale markets. To increase her effectiveness, she studied Canadian Investment Management at University of Toronto and completed the Canadian Securities Course. In addition to money market and foreign exchange sales, she was the first bond salesperson for Bank of America Canada. She and her traders went on to establish a thriving bond department that quickly expanded and became an integral part of the Bank.
With this experience, Rhonda was invited to work at a large Investment Dealer as the Money Market Specialist in Capital markets area. As the dealer was eventually acquired by one of the “A” banks she continued to work for the bank in this area. Although working on Bay Street in Toronto had its rewards, Rhonda chose to move her young family from the Toronto area and return to the Orillia/Midland area and become a personal financial advisor.
To provide full service to her clients Rhonda, acquired her Life Insurance License (Level 11), and the Canadian Investment Funds Course (Mutual Funds). She later added the Professional Financial Planning Course and acquired her EPC designation (Elders Planning Counselor). Rhonda has also completed the requirements to be a Registered Deposit Broker. She continues to educate herself in the areas of Estate Planning, Taxation, Investments, and Portfolio Theory. She individually, and as a team, has won many awards for her and their achievements in the field.
